Online Research and Resources

This guide provides an overview of how to use the Reed College Library website to find electronic sources for your projects and class assignments.

Ebooks beyond Reed

Your best best for finding books during the COVID-19 pandemic is by searching for eBooks through freely available online sources, in addition to Reed holdings. While physical lending and circulation is closed at Reed during this time, the Library is still here to support your research and studies.

One of the first places you should check is the National Emergency Library through the Internet Archive. It is a collection of books that supports emergency remote teaching, research activities, independent scholarship, and intellectual stimulation while universities, schools, training centers, and libraries are closed. (You will need to create account to "borrow" materials)

Temporary Online eBook Platforms Requiring a Free Account

These platforms require a reed.edu email and each allow users a limited number books per account.

  1. Log in or create an account . You must use your Reed email to register.
  2. Make sure you confirm your email after creating your account. You will then be able to search for textbooks by title, ISBN, or author.
