When working with images, you want to make sure that you know which color mode to use and why. If the image is going to be used in another document (presentations, websites, screens, etc.) then you want to use a color mode supported by digital platforms (RGB). If you intend to print the image, then it needs to use a color mode that is designed for printers (CMYK).
