Pick From Shelf

The Pick From Shelf List, also known as the Holds List, shows you the materials in your library that have been requested by our patrons, other  campuses, or other libraries throughout the state

BASIC WORKFLOW

  1. To view and manage the pick list, select "Pick From Shelf" from the Fulfillment menu.
  2.  
    1. The Pick Up Requested Resources screen will appear.

  1. At this time you will print slips for the items in the requested resources . 

  1. Click Select all on the left side: 

  1. Next click "Print Slip" 
     
  2. If you have auto printing selected the printer preview screen should pop up: On the Helpdesk computer there will be an option to select a preset, that preset will be black and white printing 4 pages per sheet.
  3. Once you print the slips use the paper cutter (big one) in the back to cut the strips. Once you have gathered the items place the slip inside the item with the name of the requester sticking out the top. The next step is to scan in the items to send them to the right place. go to fulfillment and click Scan in Items:
    1. The Scan In Items screen will open. Scan in the picked items’ barcodes in the "Scan item barcode" field.Item destinations and other details will also appear below the entry fields.

  1. Match the destination Slips with the items.  Place the slips in books, cds and dvds with the patron name sticking out of the top. Place items going to the library in the "black box". Place items being picked up at the PARC on the hold shelf. 

  1. If anything looks unusual with the process  
    1. Stop what you are doing at any stage in the process 
    2. Put a date and initialed note with the item detailing the problem and let Caleah know. Place the item on the back counter or in the mailbox are behind the glass cabinet.
  2. When you scan in a hold item the patron gets an email that looks like this:
