These reference materials provide a broad overview of large topics and identify significant themes, keywords, authors, arguments and theories. They also identify influential texts and resources to dig deeper into a topic. This is an excellent place to start the library research process for a particular topic.
Search and access the full text of selected reference books, such as dictionaries and encyclopedias, covering a wide range of subjects.
Searching the Library Catalog
In the Library Catalog, you can find and request physical items such as print books and media. You can access electronic resources such as journal articles, e-books, and streaming media. You can also find special, non-circulating items such as archival materials, artist books, zines, and other ephemera.
When searching the catalog, you can select one of the following options.
These databases allow you to search the contents of periodicals to identify articles on your topic. If you find a citation for an article that is not linked to full text, check the Library Catalog to see if Reed subscribes to the journal and if we have the particular issue. If the article you are looking for is not available at Reed, you can request it from Interlibrary loan.
